Parish skate and BMX park

The park was funded by Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council with grants from waste recycling business WREN and Barclays Bank's Spaces for Sport scheme.

Situated on Anchorage Lane , Sprotbrough, it is one of the best of its kind in the Doncaster area. It features various ramps and a large bowl, together with a seated area, and a grid at the entrance to prevent dogs from entering.

The park came to fruition after the parish council asked parishioners what sort of local developments they would like to see in the area. Local people told them they wanted more leisure opportunities for youngsters, including skateboarding and BMX facilities.

The parish council officially opened the £100,000 park in Summer 2005 and it is now home to the Sprotbrough Fracture Factory skate park user group, which also meets regularly at the Goldsmith Centre.

In 2006 the park won first prize in the annual Yorkshire Rural Community Council (YRCC) Village Ventures competition after judges voted it the best rural community project.
