Wild flower areas to be trialled in the parish
Following some positive comments on local social media about leaving some areas of our local parks uncut to allow nature to take hold, we are going to work with Doncaster Council on trialling some locations.
Parish council Chair, Councillor David Holland, said: “The Coronavirus lockdown has meant that local public open spaces have not been cut as frequently as they usually are, prompting an interesting response from local residents who have enjoyed seeing wild flowers emerging.
“We are going to trial a few sites on our play areas to see how this could work. Please click on the following link to see how this idea has been developed in Wales. We can’t trial roadside verges as they are Doncaster Council’s responsibility, but the play areas the parish council owns in Sprotbrough and Cusworth do give us a good opportunity.
“We will keep you updated on progress.”
