Sprotbrough and Cusworth youngsters – could you design our new logo?
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES EXTENDING TO FRIDAY 17 APRIL 2020
Calling all budding graphic designers or graphic artists!
We are launching a competition to design a new Parish Council logo and we would like it to be designed by one of our young residents. The new logo will be used on our website, headed paper, Facebook page and anything else that needs our logo.
We’re looking for something that reflects our community and has a simple, modern but relevant theme. The parish includes the villages of Sprotbrough and Cusworth including the River Don, Sprotbrough Flash Nature Reserve and Cusworth Hall and Park. The parish boundary is below. Take your inspiration from our local history/heritage, architecture and the community groups and initiatives in Sprotbrough and Cusworth.
Don’t worry if you can’t draw, it’s the idea which is important, as we will take the idea and turn it into a professional looking logo. Try and design a logo, which will be recognisable for the parish council, but do not copy any existing logos – it has to be unique! Look at our website (www.sc-pc.co.uk) or Facebook page to see what we do, but whether its local history, geography, or a contemporary design – the basis for the idea is yours!
- The logo must be an original design and include the words “Parish Council”
- Submissions should be on an A4 size paper and should be big enough to allow the judges to clearly see what is represented (with explanatory notations if you wish) and capable of still being clear when reduced in size to approx. 3.5 x 2.5 cm, which is the approximate size the actual logo will be.
- You can submit as many designs as you wish.
- Entries are open to children aged 11 and under.Entries must be received by 5pm on 3rd April 2020
Please send submission(s) clearly labelled with your name and contact email address/ telephone number to the Clerk to the Council either by post to:
259 Sprotbrough Road, Doncaster,
or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The winner will be announced at the Parish Council meeting on 16th April 2020 and the winner and two runners up will be notified on the 17th April 2020. The winner, runners up and their designs will be published in the next edition of the Parish Council newsletter which is distributed to all households in the parish in the Spring.
The winner will receive an Amazon gift card to the value of £50.00 and also be invited to cut the ribbon with the Chairman of the Council at the opening of the new children’s playground at Anchorage Lane, Sprotbrough. Each runner up will receivedan Amazon gift card to the value of £20.00.
The winning design will be published on the Parish Council website and noticeboards and, although the Parish Council would retain copyright, the final version may have some adjustments for technical reasons. It will also appear on all Parish Council communications and social media in the future and as the profile image for all social media.
So, get your creative thinking hat on and a big ‘thank you’ from the Parish Council to those of you who take part.
