Anchorage lane BMX/skatepark has re-opened
Eagle-eyed residents will have noticed that the new children’s playground at Anchorage Lane is nearing completion.
It’s set to be a haven of creative play and activity for local youngsters and the parish council is keen to see it in use as soon as it’s safe to do so.
“But there are still a couple more important features that have to be finalised before the site can be opened to the public, so please be patient as they will enhance the overall play area., said Councillor David Holland, Chair of Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council.
“The footpath from Anchorage Lane to the play area has to be installed and, equally importantly, contractors are laying turf on the site, which needs a bit of time to root and take hold. So once the contractors have left the site, security fencing will still be left in situ to allow the turf to get established.
“The Government yesterday announced that children’s playgrounds will re-open on 4 July,2020. I’m delighted to say that we currently expect the new Anchorage Lane children’s playground to be ready for use at the beginning of August.
“We will keep you updated as we get to know more.”
